Success!

Well, our trip to the embassy was successful, even though it took us 3 hours to get into central London. Our 1 1/2 hour journey was doubled by the horrendous traffic. Boston has nothing on London when it comes to congestion. We set off at 6:45 this morning and didn't get there until 10:00, long past Charlotte's 9:15 appointment. We managed to get an appointment for Myles as well at 10:30. Thankfully, it didn't even matter we were late for the first appointment because they just throw you into a queue anyway and saw us for both issues at the same time. Finally, something went right! Well, except that they wouldn't accept our passport photos because they weren't 2"x 2". But there was a pharmacy around the corner that did American passport photos. Sorted.

All the embassies seem to be in that one square. But the American one was the only one under heavy guard with blockades and police with machine guns outside. Hmmm?
